About the Presenter

Alan Liu, Professor in the English Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara, is author of The Laws of Cool: Knowledge Work and the Culture of Information and Wordsworth: The Sense of History. Dr. Liu is involved in numerous digital projects, including the pioneering "Voice of the Shuttle: Web Page for Humanities Research." He is principal investigator of the NEH-funded "Teaching with Technology" project at UCSB titled, "Transcriptions: Literature and the Culture of Information."
