Recent News

University of Nebraska-Lincoln historian, Dr. Kenneth Winkle, and English professor, Dr. Kenneth Price, have created "Civil War Washington: Studies in Transformation," a digital history research project that explores Washington, D.C. from 1860-1864 as visualized through primary sources, particularly the writings of President Abraham Lincoln and poet Walt Whitman. An article on Winkle and Price's project is featured in the latest edition of Research News, published by the UNL Office of Research.

A Companion to Digital Humanities, ed. Susan Schreibman, Ray Siemens, John Unsworth. Oxford: Blackwell, 2004 is now available in full-text online. Digital historians will find Chapter 5, "Computing and the Historical Imagination," by William G. Thomas, III, of particular interest.

The May, 2007 issue of the American Historical Association's Perspectives, "History and the Changing Landscape of Information," contains works on a variety of issues of interest to digital historians.
